Yesterday (Thursday 6 June) Farming Minister Robert Goodwill attended the Royal Cornwall Show, one of the biggest agricultural shows for the South West of England.

At the show, Minister Goodwill visited the CLA tent and met with South West regional director, Ann Maidment. The Minister spoke about his experience meeting with farmers and landowners since his appointment, and future opportunities for the sector outside the EU.  He also met with deputy president of the NFU Guy Smith and various representatives of local food and farming industries.

He also had the opportunity to visit Vintage Tractor and Steam displays and speak to local food producers exhibiting at the show.

Farming Minister Robert Goodwill said:

“As Farming Minister one of the best things about my job is being able to visit farmers and food producers in fantastic farming counties like Cornwall.

“The Royal Cornwall Show brings to life the excellent standards of agriculture and food production that we have here in the UK. It has been a pleasure to meet with farmers and landowners here about agriculture in this region and to sample some of the county’s finest produce.”
