There has been inaccurate media coverage regarding foot and mouth disease (FMD) controls with reports that it took six or seven days for controls on commercial imports to take effect and “allowed disease to enter the country.”

Forestry Minister David Rutley has today planted the first government-funded tree of the Northern Forest alongside the Woodland Trust, Community Forest Trust, Tree Champion Sir William Worsley and students from St Andrew’s CE Primary School in Radcliffe.
