Environment Agency featured in The Archers
As part of an ongoing storyline around contamination, Friday’s The Archers show featured an Environment Agency officer visiting Home Farm.
The officer, named Hardeep, explains that investigations have found the contamination has seeped into the groundwater and a clean-up will need to take place.
She asks for paperwork from the farm, explaining that EA teams are taking further samples. She goes on to explain that clean-up could take a longer time because of the complexities of pumping out and cleaning the groundwater.
We provided briefing to BBC around the EA’s role in such a situation to ensure the accuracy of the work done by the Environment Agency.
